A Year In Paphos
The Xeros River Flows

So what happens when a reservoir overflows? Well, a river reappears in front of it. Very quickly, it will look like it has always been there, as vegetation and topsoil are washed downstream. Too much water, and whole tracks can be uprooted. In April we took a trip from the Asprokremmos to the ocean, to see what nature had been up to.

Love Is Like A Butterfly

Now this wasn't typical. Every spring butterflies migrate from North Africa to Europe. In 2019 they arrived en-masse in Paphos. They were everywhere. Clouds of them. If you drove your car from Polemi to Paphos it would look orange by the time you arrived. It was a magical sight, and I can't wait for them to appear again.Read The Blog
Spring Flowers

Another piece of magic you will find in Spring, is the abundance of flowers. Colour abounds everywhere, and even the dullest wall can become a thing of beauty when some young buds spring into life from its cracked surface.Read The Blog
Village Life

If you hire a car while on holiday, you should make a point of going out and exploring some villages. They are fascinating places, filled with charm. And the taverns you find along the route will almost invariably serve up delicious food at a very reasonable price. You do get the odd kiosk as well, but you might want to stock up with a few bottles of water first, just to be on the safe side.
Cyprus Road Trip #2

Of course, the best way to explore Cyprus is with the help of one of our Road Trip ebooks. We published our second one in May 2019. Plus it includes rustic villages, ancient monuments, stunning scenery, and there is even an abandoned village to explore.
We have started on our third Road Trip, which will cover the Pomos region. However, thanks to COVID, work on that has been a bit slow. Watch this space...

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
