Tsiknopempti Day Drive
Taking one last look at the church, we then drove down the bumpy track to the top of White River Beach.
White River Beach
This is a lovely beach. It isn't sandy, but on calm days the water is crystal clear and it is great for snorkeling. You will also encounter loads of carefully stacked piles of stones, though the winter storms have knocked them all down at the moment.
Distant Yeronissos Island
In this shot the sea doesn't look particularly rough.
However, looks can be deceptive...
Big Waves
On calm days, you can swim past that rock and climb up to a ledge on the other side. You wouldn't survive if you tried that in these conditions though.

If you drive to the Akamas along the coastal road, you will eventually come off the main road and onto a side road leading to the Akamas proper. Before you go past the Searays cafe bar, you will see a nondescript sign on your right, next to a layby. The Akamas By Car
Nothing beats exploring the Akamas by car. A decent 4x4 can take you to places you would never normally find on foot, and the aircon can be a real life-saver. Some routes into the Akamas are bumpier than others. In this blog take a relatively bump free route which would suite the more cautious amongst you.Good Pages To Visit
