The Sea Caves
Sea Caves is an area between Peyia and Agios Georgios which is justifiably famous for its beautiful coastline. We have driven past it several times, and flown a drone around it. The other day I took time to explore it properly...
A Sunny Day
If you drive along the coast from Coral Bay, past the wreck of the Edro III, you will arrive at Sea Caves. They have recently moved the road, as the existing one was too close to the cliff. You can see what that is like in this picture. You can park your car on the old road, or if you don't mind a few bumps, drive into the open ground below the houses.
New Build
They are putting up a new building on the other side of the road. You can see a digger here.
More Villas
And there are more villas here, above the cliffs. If you look closely, you can see a path to the left of the villas, by those palm trees. We shall go up there.
Nearby Rocks
First though, lets have a brief look at the rocks by the car park.
Balancing Act
This rock has always puzzled me. I mean the one that is perched on another one, in the centre of the picture. How is it still standing? From this angle you would expect it to get battered in the winter storms.

Agios Georgios Harbour
Given that Cyprus is an island, there are surprisingly few harbours on its coastline. One such can be found at Agios Georgios, on the edge of the Akamas. We were out exploring in the Akamas the other day, and we came across this lovely old Olive Tree. I can't help wondering how long it has stood here...Good Pages To Visit
