Tala Monastery From Above
Moving On
Anyway, that's enough of the new. Let's take a look at the old. To get to the monastery, you follow the lower road into the valley. You go past a very famous cat sanctuary along the way. We shall feature that in its own article at a later date, but if you are in the area, do take a look. They will appreciate any contributions you can give them.
Towards Kamares
Kamares is a village above Tala and to the west of the monastery.
Kamares Close Up
It is a nice place to drive through but I think they could do with a few more road signs!
Distant Monastery
And there is the monastery, tucked away in the rear of the valley.
The Monastery
When you are at the monastery it feels like you are in dense woodland. But from up here you can get a great view.

Sinti Monastery
It's time for another guest blog, and this time Max has taken a break from his minerals to show us somewhere a bit more spiritual. Over to you Max... Sinti Monastery is a very important ancient monument and not far away from Paphos, in the beautiful Xeros River Valley. I thought I would take a round trip. On the way back you can either take the same road (Winter) or use the short cut along the Xeros river bed which is only 8 km until the next village Nata.Is this the Oldest Olive Tree in Cyprus?
