Reservoir Water Levels Still In Decline From Last Month

Despite the torrential downpour over the weekend, the Asprokremmos Reservoir water level has dropped by nearly 3% in the last four weeks, leaving it just over 30% full. Last month, when we reported on Water Levels , we observed the following data:


There you can see the Kouris at 25.7 and the Asprokremmos at 33.2%. Four weeks later, they are now at 23.2 and 30.5% respectively, as the chart below shows. The reason is clear when you see the inflow level for October, at the bottom right of the chart. There was ZERO inflow for the month of October in the whole of Cyprus.
As we stated in last month's article, the reservoirs have been lower than this in the not-to-distant past (2018-2019). However, if we have a dry winter then Cyprus will have big problems next summer.
