About Us

Green Air Mechanical installations specialise in engineering applications dealing with renewable energy systems and energy saving. We import photovoltaic pumps for swimming pools from Lorentz Germany.

By installing our net-metering photo-voltaic systems you can save thousands of euros every year on electricity bills. The solar panels can be installed on the roof or on the ground, and range in size from 2 kWp up to 10 kWp. You can also get up to €1000 in subsidies from the government for each system.

Business Hours

Monday - Friday, 9AM - 1PM and 3PM - 6PM

The Basic Principle

The basic principle of a solar power installation is the conversion of sunlight into electricity by solar cells. Most of them are mainly made of silicon. Occurring widely in nature, silicon is processed into solar cells with special techniques.

When the sun shines on the cells, direct current voltage builds up between the upper- and under-sides and power can flow. Normally traded solar cells reach up to 19% efficiency and are connected to form solar panels.

The electrical energy generated as direct current can be converted by an inverter (grid feeder) into alternating current and fed into the public power grid. Direct current can also be used directly or be stored in rechargeable batteries.

How To Find Us

From Kennedy Square in the centre of Paphos, head down to the harbour. Green Air will be on your left, opposite the Hellenic Bank.

WHAT'S NEW
Replacing your old solar hot-water system?

Direct from Germany, the most efficient system on the market is now in stock and available to buy. Secuterm Thermosiphon System is a Solar Domestic Hot Water Supply that is both safe and reliable. And with built-in overheat protection, costly repairs are kept to an absolute minimum.

Key Facts

The Secuterm Advantage

  • Top of the line solar collector
Excellent energy yields and a long operational lifetime.
  • Efficient insulation concept and straight forward setup
Minimised heat loss through excellent storage insulation and a return pipe that's integrated within the collector.
  • Overheat protection
Water temperature automatically limited to 80c to considerably reduce maintenance: no scaling of safety valves, no system failures, no lost drinking water.
  • Complete all-in-one delivery
Choice of solar tanks (160, 200 or 300l), powerful collector, freestanding or on roof racking set, and more....

WHAT'S NEW
CENTRAL HEATING without Diesel or Gas

There is a long way to go before we have a Zero-Energy house in Cyprus, but let Green Air replace your old Oil/Gas boiler with a modern heat-pump system (p.e.LG) powered by the electricity you produce with a photo-voltaic system on your own roof or garden, and you will be on the right path. Achieve the maximum in CO2 reduction because the electricity you produce is not only very environmentally friendly, but also, the return of investment is within a few years....

CENTRAL HEATING without Diesel or Gas

With our new heat pump, 100% of your hot water production can come from a combination of 75% environmental solar energy and 25% mains energy.

Our Main Features
We are experts in renewable energy and will be able to assist you in a number of ways. There are our main areas:
Solar Pumps
LORENTZ Solar Pumps for Swimming Pools

The most efficient application of all renewable energy systems specially in Cyprus is to circulate the Pool Pump only by the power produced from the sun, which means no more electricity costs for the next 15 years or so.The pool pump running costs are between 1000 EU and 1800 EU depending the size of the Pool.

A Lorentz Pool Pump System with 4 to 6 photovoltaic panels runs the pool from Sunup to Sundown every day of the year even without sunshine, circulating more water which means less chemicals, less maintenance and: NO electricity costs anymore.

Solar Power for YOUR Pump
lntroducing the ABB Solar Pump Drive

This new technology from ABB consists only of PV panels directly connected to variable frequency drivers, avoiding the costly usage of batteries. A pump driver regulates the motor speed according to the Sun power delivered to it, and your existing pump will perform the same or even better than it does now, in terms of water-circulating capacity. Depending on the pool size the payback period is from 3-6 years. Any size of pumps up to 45 kW can be driven by PV.

Photovoltaic Systems
REC Photovoltaic Systems

The benefits of Solar are as follows:

  • Good investment: Buying a solar system makes financial sense with a short payback time and good return on investment in countries that provide feed-in tariff or tax-credits and other incentives.
  • Reliable: Solar modules are easy to install, require little maintenance and come with a 25-year warranty.
  • Energy independence: Electricity is produced where it is consumed.
  • Environmentally friendly: People want to preserve the earth’s resources and reduce pollution; buying a solar system contributes to protecting the environment.
  • Solar is the fastest growing energy source in the world. It’s more affordable, more efficient, and more reliable than ever.
  • Net-metering.

Solar Thermal Systems
From Wagner & Co Solartechnik

Rising energy prices, climate change or personal conviction − there are many drivers to switch to renewable energies. The classic among them is solar heating. The technology is proven, safe and economical.

Unaffected by rising gas, oil or power prices, solar heating equips your system for the future. More than 30 years of constant development and our own production ensure the high performance and economy of our installations.

The main reason why installers choose to work with Wagner Solar is our bespoke system dimensioning service which we offer at no additional cost. Solar thermal systems will remain on your roofs for many years, so it is critical that your system is scoped and installed correctly so it sustains optimum performance whilst withstanding unexpected extreme weather conditions such as heavy snow or wind. Our expert sales team will dimension your system statically, as part of their standard service, whilst offering you the most competitively priced products on the market.

Geothermal Energy
Tapping The Thermal Energy Stored in the Earth

Geothermal energy is thermal energy generated and stored in the Earth. Thermal energy is energy that determines the temperature of matter. Earth's geothermal energy originates from the original formation of the planet (20%) and from radioactive decay of minerals (80%). The geothermal gradient, which is the difference in temperature between the core of the planet and its surface, drives a continuous conduction of thermal energy in the form of heat from the core to the surface.

Types of Geothermal Heat Pump Systems
There are four basic types of ground loop systems. Three of these—horizontal, vertical, and pond/lake—are closed-loop systems. Which one of these is best depends on the climate, soil conditions, available land, and local installation costs at the site. All of these approaches can be used for residential and commercial building applications.

The Pomos Coast

Pomos is quite a trip from Paphos, but it is most definitely worth it. We were up that way to visit some abandoned villages and overflowing reservoirs this week, but stopped to take in the coast along the way. Skarfos Revisited

It's been quite some time since we visited Skarfos Bridge. One of the most accessible of the Venetian Bridges in the Paphos region, it is nevertheless off most people's radars. It has recently had a bit of a face-lift, so hopefully that will change. Skarfos Bridge is definitely open for business...
