Nurses to strike Wednesday over bullying, staff shortages

Public nurses will go on strike on Wednesday from noon to 2pm at all general hospitals to protest incidents of violence against health professionals and against poor working conditions, nurses union Pasyno announced on Tuesday.

Christmas shopping hours

General shops will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day as well as on January 1, 2 and 6, the Labour Ministry said on Tuesday.

It said that under the law, all general shops must adhere to Christmas shopping hours from December 1 to 31, which allows them to remain open until 8 pm. On Christmas eve and New Year’s eve they can remain open until 6 pm.

Scattered showers and light snowfall in mountains as unstable weather continues

After yesterday’s first snow in the Troodos Mountains, the weather will remain unstable with scattered showers and possible sleet in the mountains in the afternoon, and light snowfall tonight.

In its early morning weather forecast, the Met Office said weak low pressure is affecting the area while a low pressure system is expected on Thursday.
