Avakas Gorge and Last Castle Access
Opening Soon?

According to a post I saw on Facebook, they are hoping to open the restaurant some time soon. There is a big hole in the road on the way up, where they are widening it. But once that is filled, who knows?
UPDATE: Last Castle is now open again.

No Avakas Access

What you can't do from here though, is get down to Avakas Gorge.
Across The Valley

However, from this location, I could see that there were a fair number of cars parked on the other side of the valley. Presumably had we turned right at the junction after the church, we would have ended up there. We will go and do that now. First though, take a look at the house on the right there. I mention it only because a while ago there was a very strange location on Google Maps, which listed the place as a Human Zoo, which was open in the early hours of the morning. It even had a few reviews. I had been meaning to check it out, as it seemed really, really weird. However, the location vanished from the map, along with the reviews. I can only presume it was all a prank. There was certainly no sign of any business operating there when we passed, or indeed, any human exhibits!
Take The High Road

So we went back to the junction and took the right-hand route instead. Now, in the past, we had been down here and it was a complete nono. There is a nice little church down here which is easy to get to, but after that, the track down to Avakas Gorge itself got terrible, and was not fit for a vehicle.
Distant Last Castle

So presumably all the cars we saw were parked at the top, and people were walking down.
