And in case you hadn't noticed, you cannot get to any of these shops at the moment, so they will all be losing business.

Webcam Conundrum

The awning that the Kato Paphos Webcam was on did not escape the cull. I have had to substitute a drone shot of the harbour until we can get it repositioned.
Ugly

Removing the signage will have also damaged the walks of the shops. That looks very messy now.
No Awning

This restaurant didn't get hit too badly, but unless they can get a new - legal - awning, then the customers will not be happy in the Summer Months.
A Week Ago

Legal - that is why the frontages were removed. Apparently they weren't 100% legal. I have no idea what was illegal about them, or why they couldn't just apply retrospectively for permission. I mean, if you look at this restaurant, it looks fine in the picture. There was nothing unsightly about the awning at all.

Paphos Harbour Walkway Maintenance
Recently the Mayor Of Paphos announced numerous contracts for improving the sea front and harbour area. The contracts were not only for the introduction of new facilities though. Some of the money was allocated for maintenance and upkeep of the existing facilities. It looks like this maintenance is already underway, because the area between the castle and the walkway to Lighthouse Beach has been closed for maintenance. eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
