Paphos Old Town in 2023 - Part 2
Good Value Nosebag

We turned right at the Rum and Jam bar and followed the walkway towards Kennedy Square. Not for long though, as we soon came to what we used to call Lantern Alley. Souvlaki Livadias serves delicious food and is very reasonably priced.
Old Lantern Alley

Turning left at the Souvlaki joint, we enter a walkway that used to be adorned with beautiful lanterns which criss-crossed the alley. The growing trees have put paid to that attraction, yet they do provide some much needed shade.
The blue and white tables are part of a very popular Cypriot eatery called Laona Restaurant. They specialise in traditional Cypriot cuisine.
No More Lanterns

I can understand why the lanterns are no longer present. However, I do think they were lovely. Any other alley out there that doesn't have a row of trees planted along the middle, should consider stringing up some lights and shades. They will definitely prove popular.
Cosmos Gallery

At the other end of Lantern Alley you arrive at another walkway. We will eventually turn left here, but first I want us to look briefly to the right.
Chernobyl Bar

There is a battered sign here that alerts you to the presence of another drinking den - the Chernobyl Bar. If you look carefully though, you will see that the sign isn't actually as battered as it looks. In fact, the rust is painted on. And that is not the only bit of advertising the cocktail bar has. Take a look at the wall next to it...

We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia.
