Chernobyl Bar Advert

Isn't that an amazing mural? And now you know where the bar itself is. But lets turn around and head back down the alley.

Towards The Mosque

This alley leads back towards the mosque. We've just passed Cosmos Gallery and are coming up to one of the entrances to Ibrahim's Khan.

Children's Play Area

Opposite the entrance there is a new children's play area, with its own bit of scandal. If you look at the centre front of the picture, there is an empty plinth. There used to be a statue here showing a young girl holding a hoop. A while ago it was stolen. Initially, and rather predictably, the theft was blamed on illegal immigrants. However, I seem to remember that it was actually stolen by local people from Tremithousa, who wanted to melt it for the bronze.

The statue itself was another creation by the artist Yiota Ioannidou and was gifted to the city by Chinese businessman and Paphos resident Henry Jiang.

Peace2Peace Exhibit

We mentioned Peace2Peace in Part 1 of this tour. At the entrance to the Khan you will see their exhibit, in all its glory.

Ibrahim's Khan is a triumph of the Old Town Renovations. To the left of this entrance you can see some photos showing what the place used to look like. I think you will agree that is is a huge improvement!
