Indoor Market - Entrance Number 1

From the main road we entered the pedestrianised area, next to Entrance Number 1 of the Indoor Market. Now, looking at this picture, you could be forgiven for wondering why it is called an indoor market.

Raising The Roof

This is what the walkway used to look like. The market was indeed indoor, but I hadn't appreciated before that the roof was separate. I had always assumed, wrongly, that the indoor market had been built as an indoor market. Instead, they have taken a regular road and put a roof on it.

I don't know why this surprised me. Before moving to Cyprus, I lived near Camberley, in Surrey. The main shopping centre there used to be open. They turned it into a Mall by adding a roof and putting in a few bits of panelling.

The Place

This is another of the Art and Craft type shops that Old Paphos does so well.

Close Up

For a change, our daughter, Francesca was on close-up duty, instead of Alex. It is always interesting to walk a route with somebody else to see what catches their eye.

Inside

There are lot of nice products available inside, and also a workshop area where I think they may have been giving lessons. If I am wrong, please correct me.
