Paphos Harbour Walkway August Update
They are ramping up the effort at the Castle End of the Coastal Walkway, so hopefully it will be opening again soon. In the August update we take a look at what they are doing, before turning the camera further up the coast to the Lighthouse Beach and Elysium Hotel. The new path is already installed there, and gives a good insight as to what the Harbour portion will look like when complete.
Castle View
We may as well begin at the castle. The seating is still in place, though I have yet to see any announcements with regards to opera performances.
Tower View
Before we turn our gaze to the works lets take in a shot of the new tower for all you tall building fans.
End Of The Road?
Now this is where the work is concentrated on. The first thing to note is that the hoardings that ran alongside the road have been replaced by a simple grid fence. So pedestrians can see what is going on. Other than that, I have no idea what the grand vision is for this area.
Close Up
They do appear to be extending the walkway towards the castle.
Round Designs
I wonder what those three round structures are going to be in the centre front of the picture?

Recently the Mayor Of Paphos announced numerous contracts for improving the sea front and harbour area. The contracts were not only for the introduction of new facilities though. Some of the money was allocated for maintenance and upkeep of the existing facilities. Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
