Cyprus In Pictures - May 2023
We post a daily "Kalimera" picture to Facebook on a topical theme. I thought it would be nice to give them greater exposure, so have combined them into a monthly article. The pictures here are now viewable in their original Landscape glory. So take a look at a selection of pictures we feel summarises how May has been in our corner of Cyprus.
Sea Front

Naturally, a lot of our daily pictures involve the Sea Front and Harbour. They are by far and away the most popular pictures, but I do like to intersperse them with pictures from the whole of Paphos.
Coast Path

For instance, I did a series of films and articles on the Coast Path from Geroskipou to the Sea Front in May, and included some scenes along the way. This is up near St Nicholas Chapel.
Paphos Castle

Work is progressing on the Coast Path Renovations too. Click the link for the latest update.
Blooming Seafront

The Sea Front looks a lot better now. The removed signs are being replaced with legal, smaller ones, and all the fencing has gone. There is still a temporary area in the top part, to accommodate the roadworks and allow traffic to flow around the back of Papantoniou's, but that won't be there for much longer.
Hidden Treasure!

May was also the month I finally finished the 3rd and 4th road trip eBooks. These two cover an area that most tourists are completely unaware of. The third one takes in Kato and Pano Pyrgos. If you follow it, you will even come across this chap at one point on your journey!

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
