Cyprus In Pictures - April 2023
We post a daily "Kalimera" picture to Facebook on a topical theme. I thought it would be nice to give them greater exposure, so have combined them into a monthly article. The pictures here are now viewable in their original Landscape glory. So take a look at a selection of pictures we feel summarises how April has been in our corner of Cyprus.
April Fool!

We started the month by posting a picture of the harbour with added Loch Ness Monster. It went down a storm, and received 4600 likes, making it our most popular ever post. Nessie's obviously a big draw.
Polemi Tulip Festival

At the start of the month, the tulips came to Polemi, and so did the festival. It was very popular, though I think the tulips were out-performed by some stunning displays of blossom in the orchards around the SODAP winery.
Evretou

I revisited the Abandoned Village of Evretou with my drone. The water levels are still fairly high in the reservoir.
Paphos Midlands

We did a report on the new Paphos-Polis Motorway project, to see how it was coming along. There will be a couple of bridges built just to the left of these fields, between Stroumpi and Tsada.
Paphos Hospital

I have always admired the appearance of Paphos Hospital. Until now I hadn't realised that there were staircases running up the side. it is a lovely design.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
