In Search Of The Stroumpi Lion
The Track

This was the track we drove up to get there. As you can see it was very overgrown.

One Careful Owner

We were actually approached by an Estate Agent after our previous kennel blog. Somebody had inquired about buying it. I was amazed to hear that, because I had been to the site and seen what a mess it was. Believe me, this site is much, much worse than that one.
Chicken Coop?

I wonder what this was? Did they keep birds in it?
Old Shack

Whatever this was, it wasn't a lion. I had clearly taken the wrong turn. So we drove back to the funny turkeys and took a right turn there.
Nice View

Before we did that though, we took this nice picture of the Stroumpi countryside. Very pretty, and you can see the Polemi Water Tower in the distance.

The Crystal Hills of Polemi
We were introduced to the Crystal Hills a few years back. It was the first time we visited Polemi and we were on the hunt for geocaches. This particularly one was a near perfect example of what makes a good cache: an interesting location that we would have been unlikely to find had there not been a cache there. The only thing that let the cache down was it's size, but we won't go into that here. Instead we shall have a look at the terrain, and see why the cache was called "The Crystal Hill".
