The Blue Lagoon
Mysterious Mist

The mist we saw earlier threatened to develop into a cloud bank, but gradually eased off.

Very Blue

Now, if you have opted for a tour to get you to the blue lagoon, they may well be laying on a barbecue for you. We noticed at Latsi that this was an option available on some of them. We chose to drive, however, and decided to take the inland route back to civilisation.
Like A Circle In A Spiral

These two boats seemed to be going round and round in circles for some reason. Is this the sea equivalent of two Cypriot drivers stopping for a chat in the road?
Amazing Views

The inland route has also been smoothed down a bit. You shouldn't attempt it in a regular car though. It's just not worth it, and you can be guaranteed that your insurance won't cover you.
Fontana Amoroza

Beyond the Blue Lagoon lies Fontana Amoroza, another place great for a snorkel. And beyond that, the increasingly bumpy track continues around the headland until it terminates at a very remote bay we featured in one of our first blogs. See the "Far Side Of The Akamas" blog in the links below for more details.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
