The Statos Agios Photios Rural Festival
Mystery Crowd
This was interesting, what were all those people crowding around?
Free Fruit
Local farmers were giving away some of their spare produce. A lovely bonus you get living in areas surrounded by fruit trees and vineyards, is the unexpected basket of fruit that will randomly appear on your doorstep, during harvest. Cypriots are very sociable people, and certainly make you feel welcome.
Meet The Meat
This stall is selling Tsamarella, which is a form of dried meat.
General Groceries
The other side of the festival (remember it was two sides of the main carpark) consisted mainly of food produce.
Recorders
This chap was making recorders and whistles. I didn't hear any being played though.

Were villagers returning, or had outsiders moved in, prepared to take the risk of landslide?Abandoned Villages - Agios Fotios
Given that I wrote a blog about Statos last week, it would be unfair of me not to cover its close neighbour, Agios Fotios. Their histories are intertwined, as they were both abandoned for the same reason. Indeed, they merged to form a new, single town, called Statos Agios - Fotios. A few weeks ago we produced a rather long film, showing a drive from Pentalia to Polemi. I was going to do a sped-up version, but I found the full version quite relaxing, especially with the soothing soundtrack, so I have left it alone. People were curious as to the route we took, so I retraced our steps, and stopped to take some photographs along the way...Good Pages To Visit
