Paphos Life Road Trip #1
Simou Turning Ahead
We will not be on the B7 for long. Fairly soon you should see a sign pointing towards Simou and Lasa on your left.
The storm clouds and recent rain have given this area a tropical look and feel. Those are the hills just past Kritou Terra.
Rain Stopped Play
The heaven’s that had been threatening all morning, finally opened. I had no choice but to abandon the trip and head back to Polemi on the B7. If you are exploring the Paphos region, it is good to familiarise yourself with this road. It cuts through the heart of the countryside and once you are on it you are never far from civilisation. There is also a petrol station up by Polemi, should you get caught short.
The Next Day
So, the following morning, I set off again. Let’s continue where we left off. When you get to this sign, turn left and head for Simou.
Evretou Reservoir Turning
There is a fair bit to see on the way to Simou. Be wary of one of the signs though. This one points you in the direction of Evretou Dam. It doesn’t go there. It goes to Evretou Reservoir, and the abandoned village of Evretou. You need a 4x4 to go there really, so we won’t be heading that way. If you wonder how to get to the actual dam, you need to head further towards Polis and take the road to Lysos. We will go there on another trip.
