Marshalled Event
At the field itself, which is fenced off to stop the tulips from getting nicked, there was a Marshal to ensure that nobody disrespected the flowers. The presence of the Marshal is a good thing, and it also seemed to minimise the amount of people who traipsed through the other fields ripping up every flower they could see. Yes, this year's attendees at the Tulip Festival seemed very well behaved to us.
The Tulips
So finally, let us look at the tulips themselves. They had survived the recent storm, and looked lovely. Whoever chose the date for the festival got it bang on this year. Well done to them!

As I said earlier, to me, half the fun is watching how peple react to the floral display.

So that was Polemi Tulip Festival. It is lovely to see these festivals springing back to life after the COVID-enforced cancellations of the past few years. Everybody seemed to have a nice time. Alex's tulips are still intact, and the village of Polemi still looks a lovely place to live in. Well done to all concerned, and see you next year!

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
