Polemi Tulip Festival 2023
More Tulips
Anyway, as I reached the last of the stalls, the microphone kicked into work. The show was about to begin!
Announcements
First up, an important man said a few words in Greek.
Attentive Viewers
Whatever he was saying it kept the crowd interested.
Time For Some Food
While most people were distracted, I joined the queue for the loukoumades. As I said, they were free, but you could also buy other traditional street food while you waited. These koupes looked lovely but I already had a lunch waiting for me at home.
Pompes?
This sign confused me. The snack looks like Churros. They are basically star-shapped donuts you would dip in a sauce (if eaten at Taco Bell, anyway). However, the sign says they are Pompes. If you put that through Google Translate, it comes back with "Transmissions". Which means I have learnt a new Greek word today, if nothing else.
