Polemi Pond
Gorge Hunting

Once I had had my fill of the pond, I made my way back up the track. I wanted to see if there was any hint of a gorge on the other side of the field.

New Tracks

I walked down the track I had noted from above. I made a point of doing a lot of stamping to scare off any snakes. The blunt nosed viper is particularly vicious at the moment, owing to the long winter. Indeed, one of our cats was bitten last week, but luckily we got him to the vet immediately. After a weekend away he was back with us.
And don't just make noise, what scares them away is the ground vibrating. So have a good stomp.
That Way

I love being in remote places like this. All you can hear are natural sounds, it is so peaceful. I was heading towards that dark area. Did it have a gorge?
Gorge Lite

Not really. It was more of a hefty ditch. Plus, it was seriously overgrown, so had there been a gorge there, I wouldn't have been able to get to it anyway. Oh well...
Enjoy The Film!
Here's the 360 movie I filmed of the journey down. You can follow it from the main road through Polemi right down to the shrine. It has also been upload to Google Street View so you should be able to see it on there in the next few days as well.
To enjoy 360 films you must watch them at a high a resolution as possible. Ramp the resolution up to 5K if you can. If it looks excessively blocky it is because your resolution is set too low.
Once you are viewing the film, you can move the camera about to look at whatever you like. On a tablet, or phone, just swipe in the way you want to go. On an iPad, click the "Open App" button to view in the dedicated App.
On a computer, use the mouse or the W,A,S and D keys to point the camera. If you pause the film, you can still move the camera about.

Polemi in 500 Metres
I went for a stroll around Polemi this morning. I didn't use the SMS service, so had to stay within 500 metres of our house. Turns out the light was fantastic and I was able to take some nice pictures, assisted in part, by one of our cats who decided to follow me on my travels...
