The Twelve Churches of Polemi
Protected Tree
This tree featured in a previous blog this year. It is a handy marker, as it turns out to be near to where Ayioa Vasilios is supposed to be.
Church Drive?
According to the map, and similar old maps, it was just about here, so let's go up and have a look.
Pretty
I have to confess, I loved making this article. I got to discover lovely little scenes like this. We are surrounded by little pockets of beauty if we just take the time to look for them. And let's face it, time is not exactly in short supply at the moment.
Along the side of the small, narrow field, were numerous rockpiles which could have been ruins. Alternatively, they could just be the result of a farmer clearing all the rocks from an area in order to plant some olive trees.
So, this may well be all that remains of Ayios Vasilios.
Nice View
We stopped to enjoy the view for a bit, before continuing up the road to see if we could find the next church.
