Paphos Seafront And Harbour In May
Summer is beginning to show signs of arriving in Paphos, though Mother Nature still has an opinion on that. It was a bit breezy this week on the coast, so we went out to photograph the waves. To be honest, we missed the best of them, so instead concentrated on the people and places of the Sea Front instead.
I LOVE PAFOS
We begin our adventure as we normally do, at the top end of the Sea Front by the newish I LOVE PAFOS sign. The weather is warm but a bit cloudy. If you are out and about in such conditions, please don't think the cloud will protect you from the sun. Make sure you put suncream on or wear a hat. Otherwise you might regret it.
Now, in just over a week's time Cyprus will be celebrating Kataklysmos. Between the 6th to 9th of June there will be a number of events, as well as a Street Fair along the whole of the Sea Front. Over the coming pages, I will outline what the Municipality has planned, and when. If you are on Facebook you can also read about it on the Municipality Page.
Not-So-Big Waves
As I said, I was really a day late for the biggest waves, but the seaweed washed ashore will tell you what was occurring here yesterday. It will get cleared away again once the weather improves.
Red Flag
The Life Guard was on duty, and flying the red flag. This means you aren't supposed to go swimming. However, the flag does tend to get ignored. I did see one person swimming, complete with a snorkel and mask. I thought this was a bit weird, but somebody informed me that it could just be to protect them from the waves.
Tea For Two
As we walk along the Sea Front, we will feature a number of popular eateries. Indeed, this blog article is pretty much a month's worth of Kalimera pictures in one sitting. So knock yourself out!
Pingouino Cafe
Pingouino's is one of our favourites.
