Paphos Old Town Market Has A New Roof!
Souvlaki Heaven

A few years ago all the trees you see here were tiny saplings. It is amazing how quickly they have grown up. The blue door you can see leads you into a very nice cafe where you can buy all sorts of takeaway treats or sit at one of the little tables that appear when it opens. The food is both cheap and delicious.

More Coffee

Everywhere I turn I see a cafe with a chattering clientelle. Anyway, this isn't showing you the market, so lets walk past that blue building...
Lovely

I love the sign on the wall of this restaurant. Very artistic. The rectangular picture on the other side of the door is in fact part of the Cementography Trail which runs throughout Old Town and tells the story of Aroudafousna. If I remember correctly, it depicts the King, on hearing that the Queen is torturing his mistress, rushing back to try and save her. Spoiler alert: he doesn't, but it was his fault really for not keeping it in his pants. Ok, that's not how the folk story really ends, but I do feel the King needs to accept some of the blame.
Green Shoots Of Recovery

I have to say the Green Living Wall looks magnificent. This is a far cry from how it looked a couple of months ago, so well done to the people who repaired it. Now if they could do the same to my Hibiscus Bushes I would be most grateful.
Shady Part Of Town

And so to the market itself. It has several entrances, but we shall begin by the Green Wall.
