Speaking of walls, there is a new one behind the restaurants at Paphos Harbour. The area is shaping up nicely.
Foam Fun
Paphos Harbour is definitely a good place to go during a storm. The rocky beach behind the castle always generates this foam, which provides a great spectacle. The foam is caused naturally, and even has a special name: Cappuccuno Sea.
"The thick foam in the sea occurs when the salt water combines with the waste of living organisms in the sea and everything is mixed together by the strong currents. The result is a thick foam reminiscent of frothed milk for cappuccino (hence the name!)."

Paphos Castle
I didn't want to venture too close to the castle, as the waves were crashing over the new walkway.

The foam was proving quite a draw. I had to laugh at the sight of a man running through it with a pushchair though.

There was a lot more foam in the moat around the castle.

Every winter Paphos gets hit by a number of gales and storms. You would think we would be used to them by now, but nevertheless, when they arrive they are always a big event. During the last storm I visited most of the beaches along the Southern Paphos Coast, to show you what they looked like when the sun isn't shining.

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
