Paphos Hotel Strip in 2024 - The Definitive Guide
Secret Beach

In front of the Amphora there is a little hidden beach. All beaches in Cyprus are open to the public, but I imagine this one is used mainly by guests at the Amphora. Other people would either have to walk past the Municipal Beach we saw earlier, or SODAP beach, which we will see in a minute, to get here. So if you want a secluded beach in the centre of Paphos, this might be worth a look.

Coast Path

By now the Coast Path is very impressive. It is also getting more crowded. Admitedly, not in this scene, but I tend to make films during the quieter times of day, to avoid unwanted interuptions.
Sodap Beach

The walkway leads you to SODAP Beach. The proper name for this is Vrysoudia A, but everybody seems to call it SODAP. This is because there used to be a Winery here, run by SODAP, a wine-makers' co-operative. Vrysoudia translates as Tap, which is the name for a bar within a brewery. So presumably there were two bars at the SODAP winery, and they were cleared to make beaches (you will see the other one in a minute). This is my own theory anyway.

They recently (in the last couple of years) built a new beach cafe here. It is lovely, but some people said it took over the entire beach. It doesn't though, as this shot shows. Incidentally, the seaweed gets cleared away before the Holiday Season starts.

The sunbeds appear too. I am not sure about some of the posher sunbeds we have seen in this article, but most sunbeds and parasols in Cyprus have a set price of €2.50.
