Paphos Hotel Strip in 2024 - The Definitive Guide
Pachyammos Beach

Once you have driven past the junction to Louis Imperial, you will drive through a parade of shops and restaurants. After them (and just after Rib Shack) is another left junction, which leads to a fairly large if bumpy car park. There are two beaches here. The first is Pachyammos.

Now, regular readers will know that there is a village called Pachyammos on the North Coast of Cyprus, just East of Pomos. It has its own beach, so why is this one here (and its neighbour we saw earlier) also called Pachyammos? Well, it turns out that the word means "broad sands". That makes sense, though in this beach it has to be said that the sands aren't that broad.
Family Friendly

However, what they lack in broadness they more than make up for in family friendliness. The beach is perfect for families with small kids. There is a rocky reef close to the shore which forms a natural barrier meaning your little ones can play in the water without you having to worry about riptides.
At the top of the shot you can see the lifeguard station. Beyond that there is another, larger beach more susceptible to the elements. That one is just called "Municipal Beach" for some reason. I don't know why some beaches get nicer names than others.
Olympic Lagoon Resort

Behind the Municipal Beach you will find the Olympic Lagoon Resort. This is an All Inclusive 5 Star Family Hotel with spa.

This too has lovely grounds, and you can tell it is a family place by all the different-shaped swimming pools dotted around the area.
