Panagia Salamiotissa Monastery
Courtyard

This is the courtyard behind the chapel. I have just noticed that there are some more panels on the roof of the monastery. You can see them here behind the Cyprus Pine.

Olive Farm Artifact

We saw a stone similar to this at an old olive factory near Mandria. You can read more about that in the Mandria Mysteries blog (link below). This was posted as a forum comment:
A beam goes through the holes in the upright stones with a heavy stone at the end to crush the olives, with the oil running down the channel into the vats.
More Olive Press Paraphernalia

This too (the mill stone, not the urn) is used in an Olive Press. Max posted some pictures of a working olive press last year. If you view his post on our main forum you can see what one of these looks like in action.
Cute Swan

There are other curios areound the garden. This well is an obvious fake, but certainly looks nice enough.
Olive Drain?

This looks older though. Was it used to drain olive oil from the pulp in the oil-making process?
