Old Town 2022 Update - Part 1
Traditional Garden

We chose the nearest of the two eateries this time. We have eaten at both and they are both delicious. But this one had a nice garden so we went here.

Klimataria

A very simple menu, however, it can be a bit confusing. What is the difference between a kebab and a plate? If you order a plate, do you get pita? How many chips do you get? Does the kebab come with salad or do you have to buy it separate?
Well, we ordered a Chicken Plate and a Sheftalis Plate, with one portion of chips.
Chicken Plate

This is a plate of beautifully cooked chicken souvlaki. It looks a bit pallid, but that is because I took the pictures at the end of our walk and was more interested in my food than photography. The original shot was somewhat dark so I had to play around with the lighting in post.
Sheftalia

You only got four sheftalia on a plate, but very were very large sausages compared to what you usually get.
The Rest

We also got a pitta each, and plenty of salad, including chillis and pickled celery which was a lot nicer than I expected. In terms of sauces and condiments, you basically make do with a lemon and salt. This is how the Cypriots eat them, so try it and don't be stingy on the lemon juice front. It really brings out the flavour.
The single portion of chips we ordered was plenty for both of us, so all in all we were well satisfied.
The place soon filled up too. I was able to ascertain (by seeing what other people ate) that had I ordered a keba in pita, it would have arrived in pita with chopped salad etc already in place. So basically the plate option is for you if you want a bit more meat.
In our second installment we shall visit the other side of the main road, and see what has changed there. I haven't yet taken any pictures for it so have no idea what I will find. I suspect however, that pumpkins will feature at some point!
