Nice Staircase
I took this picture just because I liked the spiral staircase here.
Universal Road
The road we walked down merged with this winding road that comes up from Universal. We turn right here.
Back To The Main Road
We soon arrive back on the road we usually walk down. We are by the Ethnographic Museum though you cannot see it in this picture. You can see down there the Southern Catacombs. We will be with them in the next blog.
Ethnographic Museum
Here is the museum in all its glory. One day we shall have a look around inside. For now though, you need to turn round. We are headed to a Cathedral.
Towards The Cathedral
Agios Theodoros Cathedral lies in the heart of this part of Old Paphos. I am not sure what elevates a church to a cathedral, but that is what Google calls it. It is also labelled as the Holy Bishopric of Paphos. Indeed, it even has its own website.
And if you google "Church vs Cathedral" you find that a Cathedral is a Church that is run by a Bishop, so that is that mystery solved.

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
