This little area really adds to the ambiance of Old Town. It is a lovely way of turning an eyesore into a thing of beauty.

Hidden Businesses

A lot of the people who criticise Old Paphos as it is now, moan about the lack of the old businesses. The fact is though, that a lot of them are still there. They are just hidden behind new frontages.

Ibrahim's Theatre

Anyway, if you take a short walk down the alley with Muflon to your left, you will soon find a tight alleyway on your right that leads through to this open air stage. If you look carefully you can just make out two ladies rollerskating in the shade.

Ibrahim's Stage

The ladies probably wondered why I was photographing an empty stage. It's a fair point, but I like to be thorough.

Ibrahim's Mosaics

The area next to the stage leads to Ibrahim's Khan proper. Here you will find, when they are open, a variety of artisan craft and food stores. When we passed through I think about only one place was open, but it was a monday morning so perhaps it gets livelier later? I do know that at times it can be very popular, especially when they put on little festivals.

Old Town Cementography

You could be forgiven for not knowing anything about Cementography. It is a modern, Cypriot art form, that was celebrated in the dying days of Paphos 2017 by the placement of eight murals in and around Paphos Old Town. You may well have seen some of them on your travels, and some have featured in previous blogs. However, the murals actually depict different stages in a Cypriot fairy tale, so we thought it about time we presented the murals in order, with the accompanying story attached...
