New Arrival At Neon Mall
SuperHome Center

This is by far the biggest shop here. If you remember the overhead shot we saw on Page 1, the entrance you see here will be on the right of the main body of the Mall. The shop runs the entire length of the ridged roofs. This was why I assumed that a Lidl must go in the basement. Where else would they put it?

Need A Job?

However, had I been paying attention I would have noticed that SuperHome Center doesn't start at the entrance. A whole third of the left hand side is hidden behind a mysterious white wall. Well, it used to be mysterious. Now there is a large sign enticing people to come and work for Lidl. Given how long SuperHome Center is, it is easy to see how a Lidl would fit in nicely next to it.

Opposite Superhome you have the Clothes Shop.
Cypriot Staple

Finally, there is a coffee shop in the corner. This proved very popular, which is hardly surprising given the Cypriots love of the drink.
The 21st Lidl In Cyprus!

There was no news as to when Lidl was going to open in the Mall. I did contact them by their Facebook page, but their Social Media Team didn't know. A quick search on Facebook revealed that somebody had asked and been given a June opening date. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen. What is clear though, is that there will definitely be a new Lidl here.
This of course begs the question, what impact will that have on traffic in the area? The combination of the Mall and McDonald's Drive-In already causes a bottleneck at the traffic lights at times. What effect will a new Lidl have? It will certainly pull in the crowds. How will the infrastructure cope? I did hear talk of a new exit from the Mall being built which would have you leaving towards the Stadium end. However I have yet to see anything official, so we shall have to wait and see.
