Linked to the Shrine?

Is this little church / shrine linked to the shrine in the field? I guess we will never know. I did a search online but couldn't find any information about either.

From this angle, it looks like the shack is sliding down the side of the hill.

A Better Route

I returned to the car this way. It is a lot less painful than the other route.

Now, you may well wonder what we were doing in the area in the first place? After all, a motorway isn't exactly the most pleasant area to explore. However, away from the motorway, the scenery soon improves...

Rocky Landscape

After the blog was published we were approached by somebody who keeps a log of the Turkish Cypriot Graves on the island. He hadn't a record of this one, so I promised to revisit the area and get more information...

Kouklia Memorial

We recently blogged about a little shrine by the motorway. It turns out that it was placed there in memory of two soldiers who lost their lives in a helicopter accident. I was confused myself, because I knew there was a helicopter crash memorial, but it was a little further away from Paphos, near Kouklia. An internet search revealed that there had been two crashes. So in the interest of fairness, I thought we should take a look at the other shrine. It isn't visible from the motorway, but if you take the trouble to find it, you will not be disappointed, as it is a lovely memorial...
