Cyprus in Pictures - March 2023
We post a daily "Kalimera" picture to Facebook on a topical theme. I thought it would be nice to give them greater exposure, so have combined them into a monthly article. The pictures here are now viewable in their original Landscape glory. So take a look at a selection of pictures we feel summarises how March has been in our corner of Cyprus.
Coral Beach Hotel and Resort

We start the month with a shot of the little harbour in front of the Coral Beach Hotel and Spa. To the left of this picture is Corallia Beach itself. To the right, around the rocks, lies Coral Bay Beach. The hotel is very popular, with good reason. The two beaches are arguably the best in Paphos.
Paphos Harbour

Next we had a calm day at the Harbour. This is looking a lot better now, though there is still some work ongoing.
The Blue Lagoon

Of course, there's a lot more to Paphos than the Sea Front and Harbour. The Blue Lagoon is one of the jewel's in Akamas' Crown. These days the best way to enjoy it is via a boat cruise, though the wild at heart can still drive there.
Municipal Baths Lifeguard Station

Here you can see the Lifeguard Station just past the Municipal Baths at the Sea Front. In the distance, the Gun Metal Blue building you can see is the changing rooms. Above that is a viewing platform. I used to launch my drone from there, but the metal structure played havoc with its compass, and I had to recalibrate it each time. So these days I launch it elsewhere.
Country Church

It's Springtime in Cyprus at the moment, and the countryside is beautiful. So we went out to photograph the blossom. This is a small church on the outskirts of the village of Kallepeia.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
