Memories

As a sidebar, this reminds me of my Chemistry A Level practical. We were given a powder and had to identify what it was by testing it. I was surprised, because it looked like Copper Sulphate, which would have been a bit easy. But I ran all the tests, and sure enough, it was. Or so I thought. A friend who also did the exam pointed out the ammonia smell it gave off. Shock horror, it was in fact, Copper Ammonium Sulphate.
This was grossly unfair, as I had a cold and couldn't smell a thing. I don't bear grudges, but I wonder what course my life would have taken had I been able to correctly identify that compound. Sniff.
Grand Canyons

Mind you, I'm glad my life took the course it did, as it means I get to write articles about stuff like this.
Snow!

I wouldn't fancy walking barefoot here.
Another Panorama
We'll leave you with another panorama, from the lower part.
If you want more information about Limni Mine and the surrounding countryside, check out the links below for our other blogs on the subject. It is a lovely area to explore.
We've got a big Christmas present lined up for you, that involves a virtual tour and panoramas. It will be presented using our luxury engine. This supports images twice the resolution you can see here. We won't say what it will feature yet, but it is already nearly assembled. So stay tuned for that. And sorry for mentioning the C word again.

Limni Crystal Hunting
We've long been fans of hunting for exotic crystals in the countryside of Cyprus. Half the fun of it is finding an interesting geological location. But it can also be a lot of hard work. So we thought we would show you it is possible to find some nice crystals with nothing more than a little hammer. They won't win any awards, but they are easy to find, and make a change from looking for shells on the beach...

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
