Kritou Tera Spring Flowers
White Borage Flower

More usually seen in deep blue and pink this white Borage with blue veins caught the eye.
Hmmm, Borage sounds like a cross between Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage. That would be a nightmare.

Kritou Tera Walkway

We've been meaning to write several blogs on Kritou Tera. It is a fascinating village with lots of interesting features, including the first casino in Cyprus! There is also a waterfall here, and a nature trail. This has recently been updated. When we first visited, a few years ago, the trail was quite precarious. They appear to have made it a lot more robust now.
Waterfall at Kritou Tera

You used to be able to get under the waterfall. It was like a fabulous grotto. I am not sure if you still can though, I shall have to check it out again, so look out for a future blog...
I remember at the waterfall, there was a little cave which you could crawl through to get further around. If you can still get there, all I will say is mind your head. I quite badly gashed my bonce crawling out the other side of the cave. And when you get out, you soon realise that the only route back is the way you came.
Parting Shot

Let's finish with another shot of the Gladioli. I want to stress that you don't have to go to any special place to see flowers like this. They are literally all over the place. Just drive out into the countryside, and as long as you stay on tarmac, you will be fine. There are flowers everywhere at the moment, but it won't be long before the sun heats up and they wilt and die. So get out and see them while you can.
And thank you, Alex, for taking such lovely pictures.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
