Kato Paphos Part 3 - Bar Street
Edelweiss

According to Tripadvisor, this used to be a place for traditional Cypriot food. This begs the question, why was it called Edelweiss?

Lineker's

Now we come to the first big casualty. This used to be a nightclub called Lineker's. I had a look on their Facebook page. They closed in 2014 and originally planned to re-open the year after, but were unable to do so. The page is quite colourful and is an interesting read if you like a bit of cloak and dagger.
Inside Lineker's

I had an extensive look around the interiors of a number of establishments on Bar Street. I will publish my findings in a separate blog, dedicated to Urban Exploring. As this blog (the one you are reading) is meant to be more of a tourist walkthrough, I shall only include this one interior scene. As you can see, it has seen better days.
Lineker's At Night

After I took the pictures for this article I felt a bit guilty. It is unfair writing an article on a place that only comes alive at night if I only visit during the day. So I returned a couple of days later for some evening snaps.
Secret Cat

I took this night picture to compare it with the one you saw a couple of pictures ago. The only thing remarkable about it is the cat. I was unaware it was there when I took the picture, as it was in darkness.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
