Cyprus Roadtrip 5 - Ayia Napa, Protaras and Paralimni
Prophet Ilias Church

The trip isn't all about beaches though! In Protaras, you can climb the hill to this lovely chapel, and tie a ribbon to a tree as a votive offering. Alternatively, just enjoy the amazing view.

No Man's Land

From Protaras, we drive to Paralimni. Before that though, we visit the Centre at No Man's Land.
Paralimni Square

Paralimni itself has a lovely square with three churches in it. It is a great place to stop for a bite to eat on your journey. I can particularly recommend Cacio e Pepe, which is a takeaway Pizza / Pasta cafe. They also have a few benches so you can eat there as well. The food was delicious when we eat there in June, and the bill came to under 30 euros. The pizzas are really nice, but if you want something else there are many other eateries around.
Ayia Thekla

From Paralimni we take the motorway to the other side of Ayia Napa. I normally try and avoid motorways on Road Trips, but in this case it is a real time-saver. The church here is very nice, and there is a beach next to it.
Ayia Napa Marina

And next to the church is the lovely new marina.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
