Cyprus in Pictures - January, 2026
Paphos Harbour
There was also talk about removing the concrete blocks you can see to the right of the castle here.
Lighthouse Beach
The kiosk at the Lighthouse Beach also shut for the latter part of January. It was open when I took this though, and I had a very nice coffee there.
Municipal Baths
I also found a handy place to stand to get lots of wave shots without getting my feet too wet.
Bare Coral Bay
The waves were also picking up at Coral Bay Beach, which explains the lack of sunbeds.
Country Climbing
I took this picture while I was driving back from the Troodos Mountains. It is in the Diarizos Valley, and a famed spot for a legendary highwayman. It is called The Rock of Chasampoulion.
According to the tradition “Chasampoulia” a gang of tree brothers where hiding in the narrow pass robbing or killing passers-by. The three brothers Chasanis, Mehmetis and Hussein, were well-known criminals in the area and are said to have committed many robberies, rapes and murders in their time. The gang was exterminated at the end of the 19th century bringing peace to the villages of the area.
