Cyprus In Pictures - August 2025
We post daily "Kalimera" and "Kalispera" pictures to Facebook on a topical theme. I thought it would be nice to give them greater exposure, so have combined them into a monthly article. The pictures here are now viewable in their original Landscape glory. So take a look at a selection of pictures we feel summarises how August has been in our corner of Cyprus.
Phew Wot A Scorcher

August was certainly a hot month. I am sat here writing this in September and it is still over 30 up in Sunny Polemi. A few weeks ago it was hitting the 40s.
Anyway, on with the fab pics. This is Agios Georgios Chapel, in Agios Georgios. It is a very popular wedding destination, and has a beach and a nice hotel next to it.
Paphos Lighthouse

Thanks to the wonders of its zoom lens, the drone was able to get a nice shot of the Lighthouse in the Archaeological Park. It was a clear day too; you can even see the wind farm on top of the distant Kouklia hills.
Carmen Is Coming

In September the Opera is coming to Paphos Harbour. Carmen will be performed on the 5th and 6th, but the advertising signs are in evidence all over the city. I can almost guarantee though, that once the Opera has been performed, I will post an article or a photo of it, and somebody will say "If only I knew it was on".
On The Boardwalk

The Boardwalk behind the Hotel Strip looks fantastic all year round, but especially so now.
Hotel On The Rocks

This shot shows the King Evelthon in front of the Chloraka portion of the boardwalk.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
