Cyprus in Pictures - February 2024
We post a daily "Kalimera" picture to Facebook on a topical theme. I thought it would be nice to give them greater exposure, so have combined them into a monthly article. The pictures here are now viewable in their original Landscape glory. So take a look at a selection of pictures we feel summarises how February has been in our corner of Cyprus.
A Strange Attractor

We began February with a tour of the Chloraka Coast Path. I was determined to see how far we could get from the harbour. The answer is as far as Sandy Bay in Lemba, which is a decent yomp. Along the way, we passed the tiny Badger Bay with its amazing statues. What also amazed me is the lack of interest that most people seemed to show in them. This is a shame. Creativity like this needs to be acknowledged and encouraged.
Kato Paphos Church

We also had a look at St Paul's Pillar and the slightly more impressive ruins around it. They have been renovating the roads nearby and have discovered more Archaeological Ruins to go with these. Hopefully at some point they will renovate and reopen the walkways here so that people will once again be able to appreciate them properly.
Behind The Castle

A photo from this angle is always well received as it presents a familiar place from a fresh new angle. What dates this shot to the start of February is the lack of any tiling on the roof of the new restarant they are building.
Baracas Lounge

Baracas Lounge is between St George's Beach and Lemba Bay. When it is open later in the season it is a popular place to stop for a drink or snack.
The Key To The City

Here's a nice shot of the motorway roundabout. One of the things I love about Cyprus is the lack of sizeable traffic queues.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
