Cyprus In Pictures - August 2024
We post daily "Kalimera" and "Kalispera" pictures to Facebook on a topical theme. I thought it would be nice to give them greater exposure, so have combined them into a monthly article. The pictures here are now viewable in their original Landscape glory. So take a look at a selection of pictures we feel summarises how August has been in our corner of Cyprus.
Familiar Scene

We shall begin the month with a familiar view of the Sea Front and Harbour. You can see the entrance to the Archaeological Park on the right.
Incidentally, we now have an Etsy Shop where you can buy Paphos Souvenirs featuring the photographs we publish. So far items like calenders, phone covers, cups and canvas prints are available, and they are printed on demand by an International Company, so you won't get ridiculous shipping prices. Take a look and you might find that elusive present you have been hunting for a loved one. Also, if you have seen a picture we posted which isn't available, do let us know. We should be able to add it.
Polis Municipal Beach

A lot of people neglect the North Coast of Paphos, so we do our best to promote it each year. Here is a nice shot of the beach between Latchi and Polis.
SODAP Beach

There are, of course, nice beaches on the South Coast too. This is Vrysoudia B beach, in front of The Alexander The Great Hotel.
Sea Front View

This is probably the most popular view of the Sea Front that we post in our Kalimera shots. Somebody will inevitably comment about the tower, but it isn't going anywhere so we may as well get used to it.
Azia Resort

This area is on the Coast Path between St George's and Sandy Beach.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
