Aphrodite's Secret Beach

Returning once again to the North Coast of Paphos, this little beach next to Aphrodite's Baths is lovely, as is the restaurant above it.

Castle View

I have always been puzzled by the circular shopping area you will find just off the main Sea Front. It obviously used to be utilised more. If you wander around the first floor you will see signs of an old Tourist Office and other shops. What puzzles me though is that it must all have been built in the last 40 years or so, going by photographs of Paphos from the 70s. I would have thought it would have stood the test of time longer than it has. Still, if you visit the centre you will find some nice shops selling all sorts of items, especially if you are looking for holiday gifts.
Sandy Beach

Sandy Beach in Lempa is where the Coastal Boardwalk from Paphos officially ends. Indeed, you can see the last bit of it on the far right. Over the coming weeks I will be posting a number of films of the route. I am in the process of making a hyperlapse film ot the entire path, and will have lots of footage that can be turned into more traditional films as well. So if you have any queries about the path, stay tuned!
Unfinished Symphony

Speaking of the boardwalk, here is a mysterious unfinished part of it. In the foreground you will see Vardas Beach, and its restaurant. To the left, off picture, is the bridge we mentioned previously. Once finished, you will be able to walk from here to Kissonerga Coast Path avoiding the main road. Now, to the right, you can see a decent path leading off towards Sandy Beach. But it doesn't go very far. It stops abruptly at a small banana plantation. Are there plans to develop it further?
Anassa Hotel

The North Coast of Paphos is definitely more laid back. This is the lovely Anassa Hotel and Beach, though the official name of the shoreline is Chalavro. The car park for the beach for non hotel guests is accessed from the main road just past the hotel. It is a bit bumpy so do be careful, or park up by the main road and walk down.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
