Cyprus in Pictures - December 2024
Pachyammos Village Church

For a complete change of scene, here's a picture of Agios Raphael, on the North coast of Paphos in the village of Pachyammos. It has an amazing interior.

LIghthouse Vista

You can see the Lighthouse in Paphos from a surprising number of viewpoints. I took this from the Coast Path next to the Antasia Beach Bar. You can see in the foreground where the sunbeds have been stacked up ready for winter storage.
Festive Ice Cream!

The Poinsettias adorning the seats at this restaurant give the season away.
Sea Caves

Every time I visit the Sea Caves in Coral Bay a new villa seems to have popped up. However, if you take the coast path beyond the houses the area still maintains its jurassic charm.
Kissonerga Coast Path

The Cynthiana Beach Hotel can be found at one end of the Kissonerga Coast Path. The walkway fascinates me. It is a lovely place to go for a stroll, and in a very pretty location. But I am puzzled by its cost. I remember reading in the press how it had been completed under budget. But a few months later I read another report saying it was something like 10 times over budget. I wonder what the actual state of affairs is? I wish they would finish the bridge that links it to Vardas Beach though. Once they have done that, a walkway from Paphos all the way to Coral Bay would be almost complete.

We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
