Cyprus in Pictures - February 2024
Stormy Days

During the winter months it isn't wall to wall sunshine. We have storms and gales too, and in February there were a fair number of them. We need the rain so it is no hardship, and they provide an alternative viewpoint. Also I have noticed that films of Paphos in the rain seem quite popular, as if people are happy that their holiday paradise is also having a rough day!

Keo Warehouse

Near the new Neon Mall you will find this Keo Warehouse. It isn't a brewery, but where they store all their hooch before deploying it to the west of the island.
Coral Bay Beach

Coral Bay Strip and Peyia have been having a lot of winter TLC. The beach itself is just enjoying the off-season. It is used at the moment mainly by the occasional surfer, though you will find a hardy swimmer or two.
Fisherman's Blues

The dark clouds indicate that this fisherman is about to get wet...
King Evelthon Resort

Now this area was a pleasant surprise when I walked up the Chloraka Coast Path. The grounds and tiny beach around Akti Resort are lovely.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
