Ruins Close Up
That is a good question. Regina, Queen of Cyprus is a bit of a mythical figure, who crops up all over the place. There is a statue of her at Latchi Harbour. This is the info I was able to collate when I reported on that:
"Caterina Cornaro (1454–1510) came from one of the most important Venetian families of her time and became the last queen of Cyprus."
So if it is that Regina, then the aquaduct - ok, groove - will have been operational about 500 years ago.
Interesting Spider
This huge bastard saw me off before I could investiage any further though, so the area is obviously protected by some medieval curse.
The Other Side Of The Hotel
Anyway, having scarpered screaming like a girl down the middle of the main coast road, I soon ran out of puff on the other side of the hotel. Fortunately, nobody saw me.
