Aphrodite's Roadworks in 2025
Firm Foundations

It is interesting to see that they are working slightly in from the cliff in this phase. I wonder if they will also be laying any drainage pipes? A lot of the erosion is down to uncontrolled excess rainwater, so it would make sense to manage that while constructing repairs.

To The Rock

Anyway, that's how Phase 2 is progressing. They are digging a big trench. I could leave the article there, but as I was at the famous rock, it would have been rude not to photograph it...

Whenever I post an article, film or photograph of the famous rock, somebody always comments "it is actually the one behind it". Frankly, nobody cares. People like the big rock. Deal with it.
Parking

To get to the rock, you should park at the restaurant on the opposite side of the road. There is a tunnel that goes under the B6 to the beach area. You can see the start of it in this picture. If you are following signs from Paphos or Limassol by the way, look for "Petra Tou Romiou". That is the proper name for the area.
Beach Area

There is a beach at Aphrodite's Rock but it is pebbly. So don't expect to be able to make sandcastles. It is perfect for making a heart shape and spelling DL 4 AL in pebbles though, or something similar.
