Akourdaleia Church And Mill
Downstream
What's more. It doesn't look too overgrown. I need to add another item to the TODO list: explore downstream.
Numerous Buildings
Once we had driven over the stream, we parked up and went to explore the ruin we had seen. It soon became apparent that there was more than one building. In fact, we had to walk across a roof to get to it.
Missing Balcony
Unfortunately, the staircase that led to the first floor has long since collapsed. Let's poke our head into the ground floor doorway though...;
Empty Spaces
It was actually remarkably clean. There was no rubbish inside, and no farmer had used it to store any equipment. This is most unusual. I like how the right-hand wall is literally just a rock face.
Top View
Now things get interesting. I went back outside and climbed up to the first floor entrance. I didn't go inside, for obvious reasons, but I took a photograph of the gloomy interior. I noticed this picture on the far wall. It looks to me as if this building was an Information Centre at one point. I think this site must have been a tourist attraction in the not-too-distant past. I wonder when it was abandoned?

The abandoned village of Theletra, between Stroumpi and Kathikas, is a great place to visit and explore. I am still not sure whether we found it or not, but we had a lot of fun on the way, and discovered a little waterfall...Is this the Oldest Olive Tree in Cyprus?
We were out exploring in the Akamas the other day, and we came across this lovely old Olive Tree. I can't help wondering how long it has stood here...Good Pages To Visit
