Pumpkin House
Now this was a real find. We first spotted this Artisan Gift Shop when we were doing our latest tour of Old Paphos. However, on this occasion I decided to venture inside. I was blown away!
Statos Agios Fotios Festival
September also saw the annual festival in Statos Agios Fotios. This was the village that was built for the people who had to move out of Statos and Agios Fotios. So it was nice to see a happy conclusion to that story. The festival itself was very impressive. A huge turnout sampled the local delicacies and enjoyed the event. Well worth a visit next year.
Akamas Ramble
You don't need a fixed route to enjoy the countryside of Cyprus. Some times you just need to park the car and take a wander. I still need to clean up the Fuel Can I found on this journey. Perhaps that can be my New Years Resolution?
Magic Crystals
Also in October, I discovered how magical the glass-like gypsum crystals look when you view them through sunlight...
Kato Archimandrita
Our last visit to an abandoned village of the year involved a trip to Kato Archimandrita. The residents here all left the village for the nearby Archimandrita, owing to the poor infrastructure. The village is now in ruins, though there is still a church, and somebody is still living in a rather nice cottage.
